On tour in Europe with The Mysterines

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes concert at the Live Music Hall, Cologne 2024

Hi and welcome to Behind The Noise!

One of the first warm spring nights, a sold-out concert and a choir loudly belting out the words to "Man Of The Hour": an unforgettable Friday evening, which we were able to experience together with Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and The Mysterines.

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes paid a visit as part of the Release of their new album "Dark Rainbow" selected cities in Germany, including our hometown of Cologne. With a great support band and their new album in the bag and a packed Live Music Hall with over 1,500 people, the conditions were right for an unforgettable concert.

The band The Mysterines kicked things off with an unmistakable mix of rock, indie and grunge. The warm and deep voice of singer Lia, accompanied by the sound of her tambourine, resounded right into the farthest corner of the Live Music Hall. Her sound was emotionalizing and above all decelerating, creating a clear contrast between Lia's clear vocals and the wicked sounds of the instruments.

This was particularly evident in their latest single "Strays", which got us in the mood for their upcoming second album, "Afraid of Tomorrows". But of course the band also performed well-known songs such as "Hung Up".

If you haven't seen Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes live yet, you've definitely missed out. Right from the start, the band got off to a fitting start with hits such as "Devil Inside of Me", "Parasite" and "Honey" and swept the audience away with their captivating dynamics. While The Mysterines created a cozy atmosphere, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes transformed the living room of the Live Music Hall into a wild party. The band used every free space on stage and constantly encouraged the crowd to dance. Tireless and, above all, close to the audience, the band impressed with their charisma, which was embodied in particular by frontman Frank Carter. Even a torn pair of suit trousers couldn't slow down the show - on the contrary, it was accepted with a smile while the hall went wild to "My Town".

But time was also taken for personal moments. We particularly remember the song "Superstar", in which the heated atmosphere of the piece was transported to the stage. The dimmed red light, Frank Carter's raspy voice and the band, who provided the heartbreaking sound: a moment we will never forget.
will not soon be forgotten.

After more than an hour, the concert was drawing to a close, but the continued ecstasy of the band and audience quickly ensured an encore, which quickly stretched from a few minutes to half an hour. Here the fans, who were eagerly waiting for their song "I Hate You", were allowed to sing along at the top of their voices and the last song, "Man Of The Hour", from their new album "Dark Rainbow", also proved to be extremely lyrically confident.
