Fit For An Autopsy Europe Tour 2022

Great American Ghost

Sometimes you need to let out pent-up feelings or resentment and simply switch off. That relaxation is possible especially with deathcore, progressive or hardcore punk is a formula that every metal fan follows. Also we wanted to use the Friday evening for this and went to Great American Ghost within the framework of the "Fit For An Autopsy Europe/Uk Tour" to visit one of their concerts. Thanks October promotion we could take this opportunity and went to one of the most famous concert locations in Cologne, which is also home to festivals like the Euroblast is: The vinegar factory. Surrounded by a large industrial area, the site, at first glance, may not seem like a diamond, but still has its own unique charm, offering plenty of space for metal and rock culture with its two halls.

On this evening, the visitors could watch five bands that made the Essigfabrik shake from 18:30 until late in the evening. With them were Sentinels, Great American Ghost, Enterprise Earth, Ingested and the headliner Fit For An Autopsy. All bands played a very similar direction and thus the conditions were given for a successful concert with lots of pogoing, mosh pits and loud music. After Sentinels has heated up the audience as an opener, the next act was already in the starting blocks to follow. Great American Ghost which we had already seen the guys on the last Never Say Die tour of Impericon and also saw many on this evening with a T-shirt from back then standing at the stage.

That we Our Hollow, Our Home a few days earlier, who were also on the tour, gave us a slight nostalgic feeling. Great American Ghost has developed a lot and now has a stage presence that makes it impossible to look away. The band, you could tell, really wanted to go on stage and clearly wanted to get the crowd moshing. When the guys started the first song, they put so much energy and dynamics into their performance that it didn't take long until the first ones started to pogo. Especially singer Ethan seemed as if all the feelings, especially an unbridled rage that hit the audience, were dissolved with a loud scream into the microphone. Pure goose bumps.

Besides older songs there were also songs from their latest EP to listen to such as "Torture World", at which fans of the band immediately showed up in the crowd and sang along to the lyrics. A highlight was definitely the first Wall Of Death of the evening, which was performed by Great American Ghost was triggered. Ethan called the audience to go to the very edge. He jumped down from the stage and stood between both sides in the middle, where he slowly counted down to zero. The band continued to play and at zero he threw the microphone onto the stage, the crowd rushed towards him and the moshing began. Shortly after, he sprinted back to the stage, grabbed the mic and finished the song. But that's not all: during the band's performance, the guitarist of Fit For An Autopsy, Patrick, in the backstage area of the stage and watched this.

Again and again you could see him going off to the songs. But during one song, he seemed to get so excited that he spontaneously came on stage, took Ethan's microphone and sang along himself. Awesome! The two of them harmonized pretty well, so we hope to hear a song together someday. The future will show. But also after Great American Ghost the evening was peppered with many other highlights that we do not want to withhold from you. Be it Enterprise Earthwho have created an almost perfect balance between acoustic and purest deathcore, which also includes brand new yet unreleased songs like "Soul Of An Agony" have produced.

Ingested, who with their light goth performance filled the entire room with spectators eager to listen to their sound. But also the headliner of the evening, Fit For An Autopsy, has thrilled on full length and let the event end perfectly with his show. The tour will end this week and if you missed it, you can be sure that this is not the last time that one of the bands will come to Germany. We will keep you up to date!
