Making a whole album often takes a lot of time. It's always refreshing to be able to be creative in a different way, and I feel a little taken back to a different time when you were a little freer and recorded something and put it out right away. I didn't want to wait until next year when the songs might lose their impact and meaning."

About "England Lost" says Mick Jagger: "On the surface, it's about a lost soccer match by the English team, but when I wrote the title, I knew it would be about much more. And that is about the feeling that we are at a difficult moment in our history. It's about the incomprehensibility of having reached this point and the uncertainty that is felt. That's how I felt when I wrote the song. Although it has a dose of humor to it, because I don't like anything that's too obvious, it also describes a certain state of vulnerability that we're in as a country right now."

About "Gotta Get A Grip" says Mick Jagger: "I think the message is that despite all the things that are happening right now, you need to move on with your life and be yourself - trying to take control of your own destiny."

Inspirations include not only current topics, but also many current artists and their releases. What listens Mick Jagger so at the moment? "I listen to everything from R&B to pop and weird remixes of old and new, and then I make my random playlists like everyone else. Most recently I added Kendrick Lamar, Skepta, Mozart, Howlin' Wolf, Tame Impala and obscure Prince tracks as well as The Valentine Brothers. I really like Kendrick Lamar a lot.
