Sixx:A.M.<\/strong> have announced the release of their best-of album SIXX:A.M. HITS<\/strong> for October 22, 2021 via Better Noise Music<\/strong> announced. The project contains the band's greatest hits and favorite songs incl. 6 previously unreleased tracks, making it the first album of new material since 2016. SIXX:A.M. HITS<\/strong> can can be pre-ordered everywhere as of now<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The album is released three days after the highly anticipated release of the new book THE FIRST 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx<\/a>, written by Sixx:A.M.<\/strong>- and M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce<\/strong>-founding member and music legend Nikki Sixx<\/strong>. One of the new songs on the album is also titled \"The First 21\"<\/strong> and was lyrically inspired by the captivating content of the book. Sixx<\/strong>who has now lived abstinent for 21 years, embodies an incredible passion for his craft and speaks wonderfully openly about his life in rock'n'roll. In his new memoir, the three-time New York Times bestselling author shares the inspiring story of the first 21 years of his tumultuous life and how it turned into Frank Feranna<\/strong> finally Nikki Sixx<\/strong> was. The book processes the early parts of his fascinating life story, some of which fans have already seen through M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce's<\/strong> acclaimed autobiography \"The Dirt\"<\/strong> which was turned into a hit biopic by Netflix in 2019. By The First 21<\/strong> sets Sixx<\/strong> continued the tradition of creating the soundtrack to his own life, combining his work as a writer and musician into multi-layered works of art. In 2007, he released Sixx:A.M.<\/strong> the album The Heroin Diaries, which accompanies Sixx's<\/strong> Bestsellers, The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star<\/strong> was released, thus introducing the concept of a soundtrack to a book into pop culture. Both the book and the album became a huge success, with the book going straight to the top in its first week. New York Times bestseller<\/strong> and was sold out in all bookstores in the USA. The album brought the Number 1 single \"Life Is Beautiful<\/strong> while at the same time it received critical acclaim and was eventually awarded gold in US. IGN praised the effectiveness of the work as a concept album, writing, \"It's not really an album, but rather a musical book. It's almost impossible to recommend specific songs from this over others.\" With the upcoming HITS album<\/strong> gets The First 21<\/strong> now its own soundtrack, which Sixx's<\/strong> artistic signature continues.<\/p>\n

To celebrate the announcement, the band is releasing with \"Skin (Rock Mix)\"<\/strong> a first new track from the album including a new lyric video.
