A thunderbolt of rock: Crossbone Skully's new album “Evil World Machine”
In the name of Asgard, dear rock enthusiasts!
Hi, it's Thor here.
Today we're talking about an album that is nothing less than a hammer blow on the anvil of rock'n'roll: Crossbone Skully's debut “Evil World Machine”. What Tommy Henriksen and his ensemble have delivered here could easily rock Valhalla's playlist - and believe me, that's an accolade! Why? Let me guide you through the highs and lows with epic riffs and a dash of divine humor.
The opener and title track “Evil World Machine” catapults you into a world that screams for leather jackets and stadium spotlights with an energetic sound. Henriksen has brought Mutt Lange on board here, and the result sounds as if AC/DC and Def Leppard had forged a Thorshammer together in the studio. The whole thing is complemented by rock legends such as Phil Collen and Nikki Sixx, whose contributions turn songs like “The Boom Went the Boom” into real anthems. Pure stadium rock, friends - there's no better expression.
What makes “Evil World Machine” stand out from the crowd is the epic narrative. It's not just music being made here, but an entire universe being built. Crossbone Skully is not just a name, but a mystical figure that comes to life with stories of Johnny Depp, Joe Perry and Alice Cooper. Yes, that's right, that Alice Cooper! Tracks like “I Am the Wolf” and “I'm Unbreakable” combine this narrative with solid guitar solos and Henriksen's powerful voice - the result is pure goosebumps.
From glam rock fireworks like “Money Sex or God” to anthemic power moments in “Flip the Bird” - this album has more facets than Odin's axe. Particularly outstanding is “I'm Unbreakable” - the song could easily pass as a national anthem for rock lovers. Henriksen and his team have worked with passion and perfection here, and you can hear that in every single riff and every chorus.
Henriksen describes “Evil World Machine” as an expression of his dreams and an encouragement to never give up. And that is exactly what you can feel: this album is not a look back, but a look forward - a declaration of love to classic rock and at the same time a declaration of war to the present. An album that definitely inspires.
“Evil World Machine” is not just an album, but a statement - for rock, for passion, for epic stories. Henriksen and Crossbone Skully have created a work that could easily enter the rock hall of fame.
Conclusion: 10/10 - a real Mjölnirthrowdown. Until next time, stay rocking -
Asgard listens to you!
