My Immortals.. Welcome to BEHIND THE NOISE!

 

A sunny Saturday evening, four bands and a concert in a family atmosphere: the next BlattTurbo Bandabend announced itself and brought to the sunny weather also the appropriate music. We were also on site this time and were able to experience the many highlights that the local scene offers. So many different musicians and bands met again this Saturday and literally gave the microphone into each other's hands in a personal atmosphere. The band evening itself was all about punk and invited three bands from the genre. Only one set a completely different tone with their alternative rock, but this proved to be a successful change.

First we got to hear Böser Wolf, who came from Dortmund as a solo artist. His songs are a bit peculiar, but show potential especially in their lyrics. To open the event alone is already difficult enough, but Böser Wolf went one better and additionally managed to animate the still somewhat sluggish audience to join in. There was a lot of laughter and partly tuned into well-known songs like "Schneeflöckchen Weißröckchen". A moment that we all probably remembered the most was when Otte and Andi performed the "Andi und Otte Baggern noch" song together with Böser Wolf, as you can see on the pictures. A song that Böser Wolf rewrote for BlattTurbo from the original by Mike Krüger "Bodo mit dem Bagger" and whose variant gives us an absolute earworm just with the word "Bagger".

There were many funny moments this evening and you quickly realized that there will probably be a lot to laugh about. This was also the case with Mieses Karma, who also joked with the audience to their music. The band around front woman Laura not only brought their own songs, but also a lot of humor, which they gladly shared with us. We were allowed to see the band already some time ago, also on a BlattTurbo band evening, and quickly noticed how much they have developed. The individual members harmonized very well with each other, so that their messages, from "Be as you are" to "Realize your dreams", also resonated with us. Mieses Karma was clear, direct, but also likeable that night and a little bit the chat between them and us from the audience felt like seeing an old friend again.

But also Ape Shack conveyed exactly this feeling and presented an energetic mixture of alternative rock and post-rock. Especially the groovy, melodic parts clearly showed their potential. They conveyed a raw, transparent rock sound that pulled you onto the surface during songs like "Friday Night." With their sound they brought a fresh change to the previous punk, which they solidified with their dynamic performance. Ape Shack clearly felt like being on stage that night, which they got confirmed by the applause of the crowd. An absolute recommendation from us, which you should not miss live!

 

Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to see Der dumme August, but from what we could tell from BlattTurbo's photos, they were in no way inferior to the others.
