European tour with Pistols At Dawn and Moon Fever

Des Rocs

Des Rocs Konzert im Gebäude 9, Köln mit Pistols At Dawn und Moon Fever. Europa "Dream Machine" Tour

Hi and welcome to Behind The Noise!

As part of his “Dream Machine” tour, Des Rocs is currently thrilling fans all over Europe, and the gig in Cologne was no exception. The mixture of unadulterated rock and intense connection with the audience made the evening one of those concerts where you go home with a smile on your face for a long time afterwards. But before Des Rocs took to the stage, two support acts did their best to get the audience going - and they succeeded more than impressively.

The evening was opened by Pistols At Dawn, who immediately created a pleasant atmosphere with their spherical, melodic rock. You could feel that they weren't just playing rock, but that the band wanted to go a little deeper with their dynamic arrangements.

The sound was not only powerful, but also provided space for quiet, reflective moments that allowed the audience to get emotionally involved in the upcoming concert. It was the perfect start to a long evening, with everyone still gathering enough energy for the acts to come.

Moon Fever was the next band - and they swept across the stage like a storm with their raw energy. The contrast to Pistols At Dawn could hardly have been greater.

Moon Fever played with such aggression and passion that the first few seconds of their performance were enough to captivate the audience. Their music was raw, dark and so full of emotion that you could literally feel the sparks jumping back and forth between the band members and the audience.

The sound reminded me of a wild mixture of HIM and Counterfeit - dark, but still melodic. I particularly remember the moment when singer Triston asked us: “Are you feeling like we feel?” - it felt like a real invitation to fully engage with the band's music and emotions. And of course we all dove in headfirst.

What I particularly appreciate about Moon Fever is that they are absolutely authentic. This band lives and breathes their music, and the audience could feel it in every second. When bassist Dave suddenly ventured into the mosh pit and joined us, it was a moment that showed us how closely the band is connected to its audience. When he came back on stage, threw away his crumpled setlist like a rock star and just kept playing - that was pure adrenaline. Moon Fever are definitely a band to keep an eye on.

After this energetic set, it was finally time for Des Rocs, and you could literally feel the tension in the room. When he walked on stage, dressed in a suit with “Dream Machine” written on it, I knew immediately: this was going to be a special night. There are few artists who have such a presence from the very first second - and Des Rocs is definitely one of them. With a mixture of charismatic demeanor and a way of getting straight to the heart of the fans, he launched into a set that was full of goosebump moments.

One of these moments was definitely when he played “Used To The Darkness”. The whole hall sang along and it was a bit like being part of a big, emotionally charged community. Des Rocs manages not only to perform his songs, but to experience every emotion together with us - that's what makes him so special.

But what made this evening even more unforgettable was the way he spoke to us. He interrupted his song “Maybe, I” to simply remark on how hot it actually was in the hall. It was a moment that made us all laugh - something you rarely see at concerts. It showed how down-to-earth and approachable Des Rocs is. The fans took the opportunity to give him small gifts on stage, which he received and even wore with a genuine smile. These moments show that he is more than just a rock star - he is an artist who appreciates being close to his fans.

A particular highlight was the song “Hanging By A Thread”, which he introduced with a personal story. He talked about a man he met one night in New York and how this meeting inspired him to write the song.

It was one of those moments where you could feel how deep the connection between artist and audience can go. We were all told to close our eyes and think of our own dreams - and as his voice guided us through the moment, it was almost magical. Of course, his humor quickly brought us back down to earth when he joked that he had stolen all our wallets in the process.

The rest of the evening continued in the same vein: one musical highlight followed the next, and Des Rocs showed that he is not only a gifted musician, but also an entertainer who knows how to throw a real party. To finish, he played “Suicide Romantics”, which he has always performed as the last song for six years. It felt almost bittersweet when we had to say goodbye to him after almost two hours - it was like letting a good friend go.

With a head full of memories and a warm feeling in my heart, I finally stepped out into the cool night air. Des Rocs didn't just play a concert that night - he made a connection with us that will resonate long after the last chord has been played. And that is exactly what makes him one of the most exciting artists of our time.

You want to see him live too? Then you should definitely drop by here .
