NO:IR enthüllen brandneue Single „Phantom“ und lassen auf ihre Debüt-EP „Are We Really Alive?“ vorfreuen

Hi and welcome to Lila's review!

Recently, a name has come up again and again in the scene that we have come across several times but never really noticed - a situation that we want to rectify today. We are talking about NO:IR a band that may still be unknown, but whose music does not lack the necessary maturity to play at the very top.

Your band name NO:IR does not come from the color "black" from the French, but is based on the term "Film Noir" from film criticism, which describes crime and thrillers from the 50/60s that conveyed a very pessimistic and cynical view of the world. The band translates this multifaceted view of the world, which is embodied by these films, into music: Founded in 2019, laid NO:IR The newcomer band from Bristol already raised the bar for future works with their first single, presenting a very dark, melancholic sound that they soon claimed as their own. The newcomer band from Bristol combines this distinctive mix of goth with influences from hardcore, metalcore and nu-metal to create a sound that, despite their short existence, is perfectly coordinated and sounds authentic. Those of you who grew up with bands like Architects and Bring Me The Horizon and has found pleasure in Love and Deathhe will certainly add NO:IR to his playlist.

After releasing a few songs, the band has now decided to release their debut EP "Are We Really Alive?" this year. It all starts with her latest single "Phantom" for which a matching video was shot, based on Plato's "Allegory of the Cave" with a focus on the shadows of the prisoners. "Phantom" is a very dark, modern song in which different genres are combined, from striking hip-hop elements from nu-metal to the typical rise of the chorus in metalcore. The result is a captivating anthem that represents exactly the sound that NO:IR to their fans and the rest of the world: Authentic, honest and original. The boys say:

"The song is intuitively about who NO:IR is and compares the honesty in our music to the persona we have created as a band. NO:IR is not five individuals, but one personality that fuses elements of the individuals into one character. The song questions our authenticity, and the lyrics are a direct reflection of where we are as a band."

NO:IR knows exactly what they want and how they can achieve it, and they work with "Phantom" a clear sign. We will definitely keep you up to date and will probably be able to tell you more about the new album soon.
