Silverstein celebrate 25 years with two albums: “Antibloom” is released this Friday
Hi and welcome to Lila's review!
2025 will not be the year of the snake - it will be the year of Silverstein. The post-hardcore veterans are following up twice for the band's 25th anniversary: Their new album Antibloom will be released this Friday, followed by Pink Moon later in the year. They are thus making a huge statement - and delivering two major musical attacks to their fans.
Silverstein have long been an established name in the post-hardcore genre. With songs such as My Heroine and Smile In Your Sleep, they have played their way into the hearts of their fans - the band has almost 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. They are now celebrating their anniversary with an ambitious double album. The band explains:
"In 2025 we will be celebrating 25 years as band. For a milestone this large, we felt it deserved the largest campaign of our career," the band shares. "We felt incredibly inspired and put everything we've learned / felt / experienced into this double album. They say it takes an artist their whole life to write their debut album, but with starting this band so young, it felt like it took 25 years to write 'Antibloom' / 'Pink Moon' — the absolute collection of our musical style and ideas we've pioneered over these years."
And that's exactly what you can feel: Antibloom is an impressive musical manifesto. The mixture of powerful post-hardcore, melodic metal and rousing guitar riffs hits the mark. The songs convey the classic Silverstein feeling: catchy, emotional and yet powerful. Particularly noteworthy is “I Will Destroy This”, an energetic track that impresses with its rebellious sound and uncompromising heaviness.
The album offers a successful mix of nostalgic sounds and fresh elements - a musical journey that provides the perfect soundtrack for both heartache and new beginnings.
In addition to the new releases, fans can also look forward to an exclusive tour of Germany. Silverstein are coming to Munich, Berlin, Nuremberg, Hamburg and Cologne with well-known support acts - including Thursday, The Callous Daoboys and Bloom. If you want to see the Canadians live, you shouldn't miss this opportunity. tickets are now available in advance!
