Sober Truth unleash a sonic storm with “Goddess”

With their latest album “GODDESS”, the progressive groove metal warriors from Sober Truth once again unleash a sonic squall that makes even the halls of Valhalla shake. Since their formation in 2007, Sober Truth have earned themselves a firm place in the German metal scene with their unmistakable sound and constant development. With the current line-up - Torsten Schramm (vocals, rhythm guitar), Nils Spantig (lead guitar), Jules RoCkwell (bass) and Adrian Conzen (drums) - they deliver a work with “GODDESS” that convinces with power and depth.
The album comprises ten tracks, one of which is a pure instrumental that unleashes a sonic odyssey. Sober Truth once again prove their mastery of complex song structures, which captivate with rumbling riffs, crashing breaks and a powerful rhythm section. Particularly noteworthy is the bass, which develops a driving force in many places and gives the sound additional depth. These elements reinforce the raw, untamed energy of the album and captivate fans and new listeners alike.
A true battle cry is “Pathfinder” - anthemic, rousing and made for singing along loudly. In contrast, “Embryonic II” conjures up a dark, almost fateful atmosphere. The tension of the guitar riffs discharges with the force of a lightning bolt when Sober Truth suddenly incorporate hardcore elements. This furious mixture of drama and abrupt breaks makes the song one of the most captivating on this epic album.
But my personal favorite? “Forbidden”! A sinister bass riff introduces the storm, followed by rumbling drums and cutting guitars. When the track then unloads into a thunderous hardcore part, it's like the moment Thor himself hurls his hammer. A true demonstration of power!
Overall, “GODDESS” is an album that once again proves Sober Truth's craftsmanship and innovation. With a combination of brute riffs, atmospheric breaks and dynamic arrangements, they deliver a work that captivates old and new warriors alike. Those who face this storm will either be swept away or forge their own saga in the halls of metal!
