Stray From The Path present “Clockworked” - a final outcry full of rage and groove

Hi and welcome to Lila's review!

Stray From The Path present “Clockworked” - a final outcry full of rage and grooveStray From The Path are back with a thunderclap on May 30, 2025 - and at the same time, they are leaving. “Clockworked”, their surprise final studio album, will be released via SharpTone Records and marks the end of an era. After over two decades at the forefront of the politically charged metal scene, Anthony, Craig, Drew and Tom bid farewell with a work that is a final statement in every sense - loud, raw, urgent.

The album is an intense serving of what has always characterized Stray From The Path: driving grooves, sawing guitars, angry vocals and relentless social commentary. But “Clockworked” goes even deeper. It's not just a soundtrack of resistance - it's a sound that gets to the core, that stirs and euphorizes at the same time. This album touches because it knows pain. It celebrates because it feels the power of the collective. It cries out against injustice, and it does so with an energy that is infectious.

It's the kind of album that heralds the weekend - loud, liberating, cathartic. But it's also the perfect soundtrack for Monday: when everyday life is back, the world is heavy on your shoulders again and you need something to lift you up inside. “Clockworked” is both - a tear-down and a build-up.

The album was once again produced by long-term collaborator Will Putney (Body Count, Knocked Loose etc.), who pours the band's raw energy into a sound that could hardly be more powerful. The production is clear, but not slick; powerful, but never overloaded and it leaves room for what makes Stray From The Path special: their unbridled will to make a statement.

With “Clockworked”, Stray From The Path put an exclamation mark behind a career that was characterized by attitude, integrity and musical intransigence. It's not a retrospective - it's an outcry. And it is, in the words of the band, a farewell of their own volition, without drama, without rifts. “We love each other, and we love you all,” they say in their statement.

"The four of us, Anthony, Craig, Drew and Tom, have been touring together as a unit for almost 10 years, and now it feels like the right time to put the band to rest. We've gone on to make amazing records together, tour the world, and have been fortunate to gain the support of people, more than we could have asked for. We get to go out on our own accord, on a final record and do some final tours celebrating the band one last time with the people who gave us a great career. Listen to Clockworked and keep your eyes peeled for further touring announcements."

The last tour dates will follow until the end of 2025 - then the band will be disbanded.

“Clockworked” is a final rebellion. Anyone who has ever loved Stray From The Path will find everything the band stood for in these songs. Anyone who has never discovered them will get the full broadside here. And that's a good thing, because there's hardly a better way to say goodbye.
