Über die sieben Weltmeere und zurück! – Broadside veröffentlichen brandneues Album „Into The Raging Sea“
Hi and welcome to Lila's review!
A new masterpiece has recently sailed from far-flung America to the shores of Europe, whose crew has already faced all the dangers of the rough seas and is now embarking on yet another adventure. My Immortals, look forward to "Into The Raging Sea" from Broadside.
Founded almost ten years ago in Richmond, VA, the band consists of the friends Ollie (vocals),
Dome (guitar), Pat (bass) and Jeff (drums). Their biggest influences include well-known bands such as Beartooth and Counterparts and mix them into their pop punk sound. It is precisely this mixture that can also be felt on the new record.
Honest and direct - that was my first impression after listening to the new record. With "Into The Raging Sea" Broadside have released an album that reaches and captures the listener with its personal and varied sound. It deals with the theme of one's own inner conflicts, which sometimes resemble a stormy crossing at sea. Each of us carries them within us and it is up to us to overcome them and move on, to develop. It is precisely this message that Broadside to the outside world and deliver with "Into The Raging Sea" the right 'Fight soundtrack' to get up again. Singers in particular Ollie knows that it is not easy to overcome the inner storm because of his difficult past, in which he had to experience poverty in early childhood. So he tells us:
"Meine Einstellung war von Anfang an: Ich habe nichts, worauf ich mich freuen kann, und alles, was hinter mir liegt, ist Müll, also werde ich mich selbst zum Helden meiner eigenen Geschichte machen“, erklärt er. „Ich habe schon immer gekämpft. Je älter ich werde, desto mehr ist es ein mentaler als ein physischer, aber er ist immer da.„
This attitude permeates the entire album and is also reflected in their sound: unbridled, dynamic punk music meets pop and rock elements to create an infectious sound that is Broadside calls. Especially recommended are songs like "Nights Alone", "Breath You In" and "Foolish Believer"that should not be missing from your playlist.
Broadside has mastered another crossing into known and unknown waters with her new work and will hopefully be heard from again in the future, we would be delighted - an absolute recommendation to buy.
