Cory Marks releases "Nashville Mornings" EP

Inklusive neuer Version von „Blame It on the Double (featuring Tyler Connolly of Theory of a Deadman)“ und einem persönlichen Cover des Klassikers „If I Could Only Fly“ von Country-Ikone Merle Haggards

Cory Marks recently released his new EP Nashville Mornings via Better Noise Music. The EP contains new versions of some of the singer-songwriter's favorite songs. The tracklist also includes the new country mix his current anthem „Blame It on the Double“which is organized in cooperation with Tyler Connolly from Theory of a Deadman and when it was published in April of this year by Billboard and American Songwriter was highly praised. The official lyric video for the new country mix celebrates its premiere today together with the EP. Marks also pays tribute to his musical idol Merle Haggard with a breathtaking acoustic live cover of the classic „If I Could Only Fly“ tribute. The tracklist is rounded off with three songs from Cory's debut album Who I Amincluding a captivating live version of the title track and a previously unreleased solo version of „Out in the Rain“. Marks feiert die Veröffentlichung der EP in einem Statement mit den Worten: „Ich liebe es, meine Musik in vielen Formen mit der Welt zu teilen. Diese EP verkörpert eine bestimmte Stimmung, eine Hommage an die Stadt Nashville – die Hauptstadt der Country-Musik – die immer einen Einfluss auf meine Kunst haben wird. Und ganz besonders fühle ich mich geehrt, einen meiner Lieblingssongs von meinem Lieblingskünstler Merle Haggard singen zu dürfen. “If I Could Only Fly“ ist eines von vielen wunderschönen Liedern von Merle. Der Song hat eine besondere Bedeutung für mich, denn er erinnert mich an meine Großmutter Maisie und meinen Papa Al. Meine Oma hörte dieses Lied und dachte an meinen Papa, nachdem er verstorben war. Und jetzt, wo sie beide zusammen im Himmel sind, ist dies wie ein Liebesbrief für sie und an sie. Ich bin mir sicher, dass Merle ihnen Bescheid geben wird, wenn der Song draußen ist!“

Connolly ist zusammen mit Marks und Jason Hook auch im Musikvideo zu „Blame It on the Double“ zu sehen, das im Frühjahr Premiere feierte. Im Video sind zudem Ausschnitte aus dem kommenden Horror Thriller THE RETALIATORS which will be released this year via Better Noise Films erscheinen soll. Der Song fügt sich perfekt in den „Alles ist möglich“- Vibe der Unterwelt ein, der in der Geschichte des Films transportiert wird. Auch auf dem dazugehörigen Soundtrack wird der Track neben Songs von Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch, Escape The Fate uvm. enthalten sein. Außerdem gibt Cory im Film sein Schauspiel-Debüt, in Form eines sehr speziellen Gastauftritts.
