Empired release new album "Strikes Back" in September: A sound from Long Beach with heart, attitude and hit potential
Hi and welcome to Lila's news!
Autumn not only brings shorter days and the smell of damp asphalt, but sometimes also the perfect soundtrack for exactly this mood. And that's where Empired come in: a young band from Southern California who deliver a blast of emotion, energy and musical substance with their new album "Strikes Back".
What makes Empired special is their uncompromising DIY approach. Faced with the choice of either investing the money in a professional studio or putting it into their tour, they chose the latter without hesitation. A decision that not only maintained a direct line to their fans, but also shows how much they care about realizing their music in their own way and without compromise.
The already released single "Blood on the Ceiling" gives a first taste: a song that is surprisingly multi-layered in its structure, but never loses its inner drive. Powerful, melodic and full of movement.
"After much debate, we decided to roll up our sleeves and record it ourselves. Thankfully, we had a killer engineer in the band"- Cameron Mosavian.
What followed was the construction of their own small studio, where they recorded the album themselves. They were supported in mastering by Paul Miner, who many people know from Thrice or Death By Stereo, among others, and for the vocal arrangements on the track "Iron River" by John Carey Jr. from Under The Oaks Studio, who gave the whole thing even more depth. The result is ten songs that will be released on September 5th and that everyone who loves honest, unadorned music that goes straight to the heart and under the skin can look forward to.
To celebrate the release date, the band invites you to a listening party at the 4th Horseman in Long Beach. On September 5th starting at 7pm, admission is free (21+). The event is supported by Punk Rock Gives Back and Hey!Fever Records, and you can expect exclusive merchandise, prizes and Specia-Guests. Especially nice: Part of the proceeds will go to the animal welfare organization Paws of the Night Animal Rescue.
And even if California is not exactly around the corner for most of us: For those who can't be there live, the vinyl version of the album will be released on August 29, with the digital version following on time for the official release day.
