Back Garden Light unveil eponymous debut album + A must for all pop punk & metalcore fans

Hi and welcome to Lila's review!

Metalcore and pop punk - two music genres that most of us not only grew up with, but couldn't be more different. Now there is a band that has taken it upon themselves to combine these two genres to make something great out of them: My Immortals, look forward to Back Garden Light!

"Back Garden Light? Never heard of it."

We also had to do a little research to get to know the band and their music better and discovered that they are a real insider tip. In 2014, four guys from the tranquil town of Bordeaux in France got together and founded the band Back Garden Light. Influenced by and grew up with bands from the metalcore (Issues, The Word Alive) and pop-punk greats (Blink 182, SUM41), the boys mixed these two genres with their own ideas and developed their own personal BGL sound. The result is a revolutionary mix that will hopefully soon reach the scene. The band has already played over 200 concerts, from England to Japan, and can now focus on new material for new stages, especially in this corona crisis.

For a first taste Back Garden Light with their eponymous debut album, in which they have invested two years of their passion and creativity. The result is a modern, fresh album that combines the freedom-loving sound of punk with the energetic sound of metalcore while still sounding authentic. In their debut, they talk about love, mental health and living without regrets. This message clearly runs through the entire 13 songs on the record and once again underlines the album as a complete package. Especially recommended for the first introduction are songs like "Such A Shame" or "On My Own"which provide a good insight into the band's sound spectrum. Back Garden Light has created an impressive album with their release, which deserves to be heard and definitely spreads a good mood.

The band reveals the following about the album: "Our eponymous album Back Garden Light is the result of more than 2 years of work. We concentrated all the experience we have gained in these 5 years and our desire to create a "BGL" sound that will give you different emotions and give you the strength to get up in the morning. The melodies are nostalgic, the choruses are catchy and the breakdowns are energetic."

In any case, we hope to hear more from this quartet and look forward to the time when Back Garden Light makes the German stages unsafe. Our "Album of the month" for March!
