Our concert report on the

BlattTurbo band night

My Immortals.. Welcome to BEHIND THE NOISE!

To kick off, for the upcoming Escalate Festival this coming November, we found ourselves once again in the small village of Stotzheim, near Euskirchen. Every two months band evenings take place there in the Klosterhof, organized by BlattTurbo, an independent magazine from the area. Now it went into the next round and the "5th BlattTurbo Band Night" announced itself with a proper load of underground, which should push the sleepy little place out of its bed. A memorable evening, about which we are happy to report today. Arriving on site, our welcome was followed by the soundcheck of Critical Strain which only confirmed our anticipation for the evening. Critical Strain are five guys from Bonn. At home in Alternative Metal they combine this

with elements of hardcore and thus get their very own touch. The result is a dynamic sound that focuses mainly on dark, deep bass tones. The young band, which has been performing live together since 2017, celebrated their second appearance at the last band night and delivered a good performance with a lot of passion and energy. Especially they convinced us with their piece "Nothing Is Forever"which proved to be earworm-worthy. Critical Strain mastered the mammoth task as opener with flying colors and brought the atmosphere into the store, which was followed by the next band. Bad Karma is the name of the four-piece band around frontwoman Laura. Located in the German rock, they play and write songs with socio-critical as well as freedom-loving content, which relate mainly to everyday situations, for about a year. In their song "Dancing In The Rain", the

they play, according to their own statements, at the end of each performance, their message becomes clear once again: Be yourself, no matter what others think of you or what they say about you. Mieses Karma embodies this attitude and also challenges the audience at the band night to be brave and stand up for themselves. With a lot of charm and a lot of wit they put on a dynamic as well as powerful performance and really got the audience fired up. Mieses Karma knew how to convince and created a comfortable, living room-like atmosphere, which lasted the entire performance. A successful performance, which we gladly recommend to you. One band in particular stood out this evening, For Your Dawn. Launched exactly six years ago, reflects For Your Dawn a very characteristic sound, which, according to their own statements, is located in the melodic metal. In their music

they combine various elements from the trash as well as prog area and combine them to his spell drew. For Your Dawn inspired us especially with songs like "Rings On Fire", which we can only recommend to you! A really good concert, which we would like to see again and very soon, because For Your Dawn will perform at this year's Escalate Festival. An event you should not miss. Last but not least, the guys from Uncrowned Empire the stage. Founded in 2013 by the longtime friends Daniel, Marek and Marc the German metal band kept evolving and so did their sound. Initially in hard rock, their style quickly changed to a rather harder, rougher sound that uses various elements of hard rock and prog. Due to the added components, the band also grew by two members, Björn and Markus.

The guys have been playing in this constellation for five years now and thrilled the audience of the band night that way, too. Hard-hitting and intense, their performance was characterized mainly by their distinctive sound, which Uncrowned Empire honed over the years. From song to song they stepped up their game, integrating guitar solos and thus delivering a passionate performance that we enjoyed watching. Uncrowned Empire duly ushered in the end of the last band night of this year and further increased the anticipation for the upcoming Escalate. We really enjoyed this band night and we are really looking forward to the Escalate Festival in November, where you, my Immortals, are welcome to come!
