European Tour 2017 with Decade and TIgress

Counterfeit

My Immortals.. Welcome to BEHIND THE NOISE!

Read it right! We have a new format which deals with our experiences and adventures at concerts. Here we throw ourselves into the fray and try to catch insights from the point of view of a concertgoer for you to record them in a live report. In the course of this, our studio has set out on 13.04.2017 to record for you from the Counterfeit concert at the Stollwerk in Cologne. Together with the Counterfeit Fans we waited eagerly for the security to let us up the stairs to the hall where the bands had already started with the soundcheck. Admittedly, we were lucky and did not have to spend the whole time waiting, but could use the opportunity for an interview with Decade, a British

Band who have performed as a supporter of Counterfeit. The interview itself will be online on YouTube in a few days, so it's worth checking out our social media channels from time to time! When shortly after 20.00 o'clock the security decided to remove the barrier tapes, we entered the small hall, after we had had a good time at the merchandise stands and the bar, and were astonished when we saw Tigress saw play. The band put on a good 20 minute performance and managed to get the audience to join in with a very good stage presence. We are looking forward to seeing you from Tigress to report in this column if the band ever gives its own concert here. With the other members in the luggage we made our way to the upper tiers to get a first impression of the location and enjoyed the view. The Stollwerk itself is very manageable and so there is a closeness between the bands and the audience.

Audience that one hopes for in vain in larger venues. So you could see very closely how Dan, the drummer of Decade, set up his drum kit himself or how their manager did the sound check of the instruments himself on stage. Decade also convinced with their performance. You could tell that the guys love to be on stage. Especially Joe played as if he was in a trance and so he fascinated the audience (at least us). Again, we are looking forward to seeing the band again if they ever come from Great Britain to play their own concert. We will certainly be there... and we can only recommend this to you. After the performance of Decade we went to the foyer to have a few more words with Alex, the singer of Decade before, after a selfie at the end, we went back to the sall. We mingled with

the masses and waited eagerly for the main act: Counterfeit. We were just fighting our way to the front of the stage when with a big "KABUM" the guys from Counterfeit around singer Jamie Campbell Bower were already on stage. It's been a long time since we've had such a refreshing performance as this one from Counterfeit seen! Jamie was not afraid to perform several times with microphone and guitar in the middle of the crowd. During the song "Letter to the Lost" he asked everyone to sit down. Already after the first words he had the crowd singing along at least at his volume. There was no sign of the fact that the band was only formed in 2015 and released their debut album in May. The band played as if they had been on stage for years and had never done anything else, which surprised us a lot. The evening got better and better from song to song and the interludes on stage became more and more blatant.

Counterfeit was clearly not audience shy, which could be seen, among other things, in the stage diving of guitarist Sam Bower. After the band let the supposed last song fade out and left the stage, the fans did not want to accept this and brought the guys back on stage by loudly demanding encores. Who now thinks after two songs would have been the end, has made the calculation without the singer of the band. According to the motto "No obstacle is too big!" he climbed the balustrade of the second floor to hang over the railing and ask the crowd to form a huge mosh pit. The more the crowd pogoed below, the more Jamie (still hanging over the railing) went off. When the next song started, he gave the microphone and the cable to the crowd.

downstairs the band continued to play. A short time later he came back on stage armed with toilet paper rolls and threw them into the audience. The white rolls flew back and forth over our heads and the atmosphere was simply unbeatable. The last notes sounded and the crowd cheered. Everyone screamed and applauded as Counterfeit and the members of the other bands joined them on stage and bowed their heads in farewell. And then...it was already over. Worn out from a really great concert, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat at Mc Donalds at 00:30 before heading home. We are already looking forward to the next concert and will keep you up to date!

Concerts, festivals and more

In our BEHIND THE NOISE column we write about everything around the metal & rock scene and take a look behind the spotlights to give you a better insight into the concert. At this concert, too, we were able to collect exciting and new memories, which we will of course not withhold from you. Intense, unconventional and intoxicating. Welcome to the concert!

One show. Endless memories
