Dead Lakes and their brand new work "New Language

Hey and welcome to Lila's reviews!

On these very warm sunny days, I always think back to my last vacation, which I was lucky enough to spend on the beach and not at home in the living room. Who doesn't miss that these days? My Immortals, the only thing that helps is a bit of good music to help the "Holiday depression" to counteract this. Accordingly, today I would like to Dead Lakes and their new EP "New Language" .

But, who is Dead Lakes?

Those who have not yet heard of the five-piece band should read along carefully, because we are sure that we have heard of Dead Lakes will certainly be hearing a lot more in the future: With a strong sense for the right mix of modern pop and fresh metalcore, are Dead Lakes from the distant Seattle are ready for the big stages of this world. Accompanied by influences from post-hardcore and alternative metal, the guys convince with a polished and genre-spanning sound that especially fans of Issues, Casey or PVRIS should not be missed. The five-piece band recently signed to the label SharpTone Recordsabout which she also published her new work "New Language" published.

With a total of five tracks, you get a good insight into the band's sound universe. The guys take their fans on a journey of various emotions, which they process in their music. A special focus lies on the experiences with panic attacks as well as the handling of emerging emotions, which the singer Peterson has made. With this very personal and intense work, he talks about the highs and lows in life, the question of being and his own place in society. Combined with its clear and slightly optimistic sound, "New Language" is a work with which you quickly identify and which shows you that you are not alone with your problems. At this point "Paradise" and the title song of the same name "New Language" both of which address these problems with a dark yet uplifting atmosphere. About the release Peterson:

"I like to write in a way that is sometimes perhaps too direct. I used to write my texts more metaphorically, now I just say exactly what I mean. For me, it's a different kind of vulnerability to write like that. It's a bit nerve-wracking when thousands of people know where I'm at mentally, while I haven't really opened up to the people I'm close to. For many people close to me, release days are also days when I can finally find out what's going on in Sumner's head. I think it's important to be honest and open when writing the lyrics because that gives the listener something they can really relate to in an unadulterated and raw way."

The album was created in cooperation with producer Erik Ronwhich among other things with Set It Off and Panic! At The Disco worked together. For the band "New Language" another step in the right direction and makes Dead Lakes is definitely an insider tip that I can only recommend to you.
