Escalate Festival

For the fourth time invited BlattTurbo now already for the Escalate Festival to Euskirchen. Also this year the Underground Festival announced itself loudly in the tranquil district town and opened the gates for fans of metal and rock. One stage, ten bands, the speakers turned up full and the place filled to the brim with "metallers" who were in a really good mood and had a lot of fun with good metal punk and rock music... that's what we love about the festival. One day Escalate, we were there.
But who is actually behind the Escalate Festival?
From the initial idea to the actual event, the festival is entirely the brainchild of underground magazine BlattTurbo. Year after year, the Scene magazine brings the

different sounds on his stage and thus delivers the 'harder stuff' to Euskirchen. The focus is always on the underground, the bands and the fun of the music. Just as the festival grows from year to year, it also attracts with each time more visitors in its spell. BlattTurbo does a lot more, however, and so the magazine organizes, in addition to the Escalate also the LeafTurbo band eveningswhich take place almost every two months in Stotzheim (a small town on the outskirts of Euskirchen). The next BlattTurbo band night will take place on January 11, 2020 and we would be happy to meet one or the other of you there... it's worth it! As every year, the gates opened punctually at 1 pm and quickly filled the premises of the City Forum in Euskirchen. but we are sure that it will grow out of there quickly) but the location offers everything the metal heart needs. A stage, a bar, merchandise, food and of course a lot of good music. Especially the pleasant, familiar atmosphere of the festival, makes the Escalate to something special. One of our first highlights this year was clearly At the limit with German lyrics and finest punk rock, the guys already rocked the stage in the early afternoon as if it were a main act. Originating from the not far away Düren, the trio has been playing in this constellation for six years now. Their sound is raw, light and above all sounds very natural. In their songs, the guys talk about personal and everyday experiences, but also about current ones,

socio-critical topics. So also, on their new disc, which will be released on January 10, 2020. We are looking forward to it! On this year's Escalate we had seen the guys live for the first time and were especially thrilled by their strong, dynamic performance. The three friends harmonized well with each other and seemed very authentic on stage. At the limit gave a really good performance, which we were so happy to watch again. Our next highlight was definitely For Your Dawn. We were allowed to get to know the guys already on one of the LeafTurbo band evenings, and when we learned that For Your Dawn also still on the Escalate we were really excited about their performance. The five-piece band comes from the Cologne area and uses a distinctive, personal sound that we will not only present to you live, but also on stage.

but also on their eponymous disc. Based in metal, their sound contains various elements of melodic metal and hardcore, combined with a really good stage performance. For Your Dawn to a real "live" insider tip. But not only the hard tones find with For Your Dawn heard, with songs like "Ring Of Fire"The Cologne band manages to create a unique goosebump atmosphere that goes through the marrow of your bones. For Your Dawn has in our opinion the potential to play at the top. Varied, with a lot of passion and a whole lot of 100% Buttkickn' Hardrock they also pulled on the Escalate Festival the audience into their spell and heated them up mightily. Especially songs like "For Your Dawn" proved to be catchy and remain in our heads until today.

Once again the band managed to convince us on full length and we are curious what we can hear from the guys in the future. The Escalate Festival, a place where the underground is at home. Year after year, the most diverse bands are on its stage and bring festival-goers a full day of metal, punk and rock. What more could you want? We would be happy to visit the festival in the future in the big hall and see the bands on the big stage of the City Forum and of course we will continue to keep you informed about the Escalate report. We think that there should be many more festivals like this to appreciate the underground even better.
