Halestorm release new album "Vicious

"What doesn't kill me makes me vicious" .... welcome to Lila's review!

Halestorm - With much excitement and anticipation we have been waiting for the new disc of the band and we were even more excited when we were allowed to preview the new work (which will be released next weekend).

For all of you who Halestorm not yet known, here is a brief insight:

The band was formed by the twins Elizabeth "Lzzy" Hale (guitar, vocals, piano) and her brother Arejay Hale (drums) were founded. Already in the sandbox, the two began to make music together. At the age of thirteen and ten years, they performed for the first time under the name of Halestorm together with their father (who was also the bass player of the band until 2003) and released together with him their first EP "Don't mess with the Time Man".

Especially with songs like "I Miss The Misery"whose music video incidentally achieved 55 million views on YouTube and whose single release received gold status developed Halestorm over the years to a fixed size of the hard rock / metal scene. In now 20 years the band has played thousands of concerts (about 2500) worldwide and are among others with bands like Shinedown or Seether occurred. Even the glorious Grammy Award could not resist and so it happened that in 2013 the band received a Grammy in the category "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance" for her song "Love Bites (So Do I)" won

All the experiences that Halestorm in the years were allowed to collect the band now packed into your new album. The good piece carries the title "Vicious" and includes a total of 12 tracks. "Vicious" is the most personal work of the band so far and was created at a time when rock - tube Lzzy was caught in a conflict with herself. She wrote down all her emotions together with her band mates and told herself that it was like therapy for her. "Vicious" revolves particularly around the topic of one's "Demons" and self-doubt that each of us carries around with him. In dynamic and raw tones, the band hits the nerve of our time, especially with the eponymous title song of the album. "It's about being strong and fierce," tells Lzzy. "The climate of the world right now is always seeping in, so we wanted it to feel really positive and empowering."

Developed and recorded "Vicious" together with producer Nick Raskulineczwho, among others, has already worked with greats such as the Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains and Rush had worked. With "Vicious" produced Halestorm and Raskulinecz already the second joint project. The disc should be above all natural, capture real moments and transport them through the music. The artists worked hard to make each song unique and pushed themselves to the limit song after song.

The result is breathtaking. An album packed with the finest Hard Rock in best Halestorm manner. The sound is cheeky, wild and simply sweeps along. Fans of the band can definitely look forward to another great album à la Halestorm which should not be missing in any CD shelf. Our Favorite Track is clearly "Uncomfortable". The track is definitely loud... and a real grab bag of dynamic guitar riffs rounded off by Lzzys voluminous voice, the track is pure rock. For this, but not only for this song but also for the other 11 tracks, the album receives from us the predicate "1000% buttkickn' Hardrock" and is therefore our "Album of the Month" .

On the whole "Vicious" an album with character. Each song is individual and shows a new facet of the band. With their new record, the band once again goes one better and shows that even after more than 20 years they are still evolving and yet have never forgotten the passion for their work. Halestorm has definitely convinced us with their new disc and therefore gets an absolute buy recommendation from us.
