Helloween unveil eponymous album this Friday! Our "Album Of The Month

Hi and welcome to Lila's review!

They belong to the most successful German metal bands, already celebrated their international breakthrough in the 80s and received countless awards for their career. They shared the stage with greats like Ozzy Osbourne and developed themselves into an integral part of the scene, without which one can no longer imagine metal. The speech is from none other than Helloween.

Heard correctly, for all those who have not yet noticed: Helloween is back.

Since its formation in 1984, the band has undergone various changes in its line-up, except for bassist Markus Grosskopf and his co-survivor Michael Weikath on the guitar, in all instruments was replaced once. Remained faithful Helloween but their unique musical style, which ranges between classic speed, power, death as well as true metal. This sound, which fans appreciate so much and which has made the band a legend, is characterized by its very clear, direct as well as natural sound and with this characteristic it declares war on the mainstream. Helloween signs every single song with her own signature and delivers with her latest work a good reason to listen and listen carefully once again.

The highs and lows the band have endured in the past culminated in their 2017 "The Smashing Pumpkins Tour", which they initially contested as a project. However, the at that time seven-member alliance could not overhear on their worldwide tour the wishes of the fans not to split up again and so the initial project turned into a solid idea. With this, the guys, consisting now of Michael Kiske (vocals), Andi Deris (vocals), Kai Hansen (guitar and vocals), Michael Weikath (guitar), Sascha Gerstner (guitar), Markus Grosskopf (bass) and at least Daniel Loeble (drums), returned to their studio to work on new material. The result can now be heard on June 18.

The new album, which justifiably bears the eponymous title "Helloween" already reflects in the first song "Out For Glory" the mood and atmosphere of the new work and gives a small taste of what fans can look forward to: Anthemic, melodic and authentic 100% made by Helloween. Their latest album also seems to have answered the call of their fan base, because it sounds like the guys have been resurrected and have risen like a Phoenix from the ashes to intonate a new era.

Particularly successful is the combination of the three singers, who sing the well known Helloween Sound with their very harmonious voices catch and support again. The tuning instruments create a complete work that takes you along from the first to the last second. In terms of sound, their music has remained the same, but you quickly notice that many different personalities have worked on the album and let their creativity and ideas flow. Accordingly, there are also sometimes unexpected twists, such as in the song "Angels"which is one of our absolute favorites on the record. "Helloween" is multi-faceted, diverse and reflects the experience they have gained so far in their career in every single note.

The album was first recorded in the HOME studios in Hamburg, where records like "Master Of Rings" and "Better Than Raw" found their beginning, and used for it among other things the original kit of Ingo Schwichtenberg. After that we went together with Charlie Bauerfeind and co-producers Dennis Ward into the hallowed halls of Valhalla Studios by Ronald Prentin which already Iron Maiden, Def Leppard as well as many other well-known bands produced their albums.

Bauerfeind tells about it: "After over 30 years with the band's various line-ups, I thought I was well prepared for another extremely creative challenge - far from it! With this 'super sized creativity package' in the studio, the result has exceeded my expectations by miles in every way."

Dennis Ward: "HELLOWEEN are an institution that is all about making music itself - not only for themselves, but also for the fans. When we got into the mixing phase of production, it was clear that we had an album in our hands that captured the full spectrum of the band and every single one of us had given 110% for it. It was an honor to finally work with Charlie and I thank the guys for letting me be a part of their story!"

Helloween has not only reunited with this new album, but also written another piece of metal history. You can listen to the new work, hopefully soon, on their joint tour with Hammerfall which will also tour Germany. You can find all tickets in their store.
