Here are the clips for "Gotta Get A Grip" and "England Lost" to see

Mick Jagger the two songs are particularly close to his heart, so that a later release was out of the question for him: "Gotta Get A Grip" and "England Lost" calls Mick Jagger "urgent answers to the confusing and frustrating times we are living in right now." Further, the legendary musician tells: "The songs are the result of fear and the incomprehensibility of the changing political situation." When asked how he would describe the current political climate, he answers Mick Jagger:"We obviously have a lot of problems. Am I being politically optimistic?... No."

Although Mick Jagger together with the Rolling Stones a few months ago the worldwide acclaimed album "Blue and Lonesome" and has conquered the charts around the globe - in Germany there were 3x platinum and number 1 in the Official German Album Charts - he was drawn back to the studio: "I started writing the two songs in April and wanted to release them right away. Making a whole album often takes a lot of time. It's always refreshing to be able to be creative in a different way, and I feel a little taken back to a different time when you were a little freer and recorded something and put it out right away. I didn't want to wait until next year when the songs might lose their impact and meaning."

About "England Lost" says Mick Jagger: "On the surface, it's about a lost soccer match by the English team, but when I wrote the title, I knew it would be about much more. And that is about the feeling that we are at a difficult moment in our history. It's about the incomprehensibility of having reached this point and the uncertainty that is felt. That's how I felt when I wrote the song. Although it has a dose of humor to it, because I don't like anything that's too obvious, it also describes a certain state of vulnerability that we're in as a country right now."

About "Gotta Get A Grip" says Mick Jagger: "I think the message is that despite all the things that are happening right now, you need to move on with your life and be yourself - trying to take control of your own destiny."

Inspirations include not only current topics, but also many current artists and their releases. What listens Mick Jagger so at the moment? "I listen to everything from R&B to pop and weird remixes of old and new, and then I make my random playlists like everyone else. Most recently I added Kendrick Lamar, Skepta, Mozart, Howlin' Wolf, Tame Impala and obscure Prince tracks as well as The Valentine Brothers. I really like Kendrick Lamar a lot. He talks about discontent and gets to the heart of it."

Mick Jagger is still on top of the times, which is proven not only by the original versions of the two tracks but also by another digital EP called "Reimagined". On it are four remixes of "Gotta Get A Grip" - among others from Tame Impalas' Kevin Parker and Seeb - as well as a feature from "England Lost" with Mercury Prize winner and grime artist Skepta .

"Gotta Get A Grip" and "England Lost" are now available for download.

Mick Jagger is in the fall together with the Rolling Stones on tour in Germany. The Rolling Stones celebrate the start of the "NO FILTER" European Tour in Hamburg and will be a total of three shows in Germany play
