Never Loved unveil exciting debut album "Over It" on May 14 - Our "Album Of The Month".

Hi and welcome to Lila's review!

The temperatures outside our studio are slowly approaching what we know as summer and even our absolute favorite playlist is adapting to this change. Even though festival season is kicking off everywhere but Germany, we don't want to give up and give you that sweaty, warm feeling back a little bit. That's why today we brought a special piece of music that we can finally put on our CD shelf from May 14.

"Over It" from Never Loved.

Never Loved started the same way as almost every famous band before their breakthrough: Two close friends, in our case Cameron Knopp (guitar, vocals) and Jay Gayoso (bass), come together with the aim of making music that takes the listener along as well as appeals. The duo was later complimented by Shane O'Brien on the guitar, marking the beginning of something big.

Influenced by punk as well as pop, the band combines them to a nostalgic as well as modern sound, which reminds a little of All Time Low, Blink 182 and Tiny Moving Parts reminds. However, the mixture that the guys create is their very own and carries the distinctive Never Loved Signature in the form of anthemic, natural rock songs paired with various influences. Surprisingly, which does not always happen, the trio has already found their own sound with their debut album and clearly claimed it for themselves.

"Over It" describes life in all its good and bad facets. It is about love, self-acceptance and about the fact that even the most modest situation should not bring you out of the concept.

The album with the title that screams closure is rather the beginning of something new. "Over It" manages to use the combination of punk, pop as well as alternative rock in a targeted way without integrating too much or too little of one. Between festival heroes like "Gasoline" and ideal summer songs like "On & On It Goes" , Never Loved really packed everything into the disc, what fits in. The music is joined by sound elements that are somewhat reminiscent of the universe depicted on the record and thus round off the album as a whole. Who "Over It" will notice that every song is unique and the band accompanies you from hymn to hymn. It gets sometimes faster, sometimes slower and the settings change constantly from bar, to concert to campfire and back again. We can well imagine how the individual songs will be sung along loudly by the audience at the band's next gig, and we very much hope to be able to take part in that soon, too. About the album Cameron:

"It's incredible to finally announce our debut album to the world. I remember sitting in the studio with Matt in 2017 when we recorded 'Dead Inside' and thinking how great it would be to make a full-length album with him, and here we are. At the time it felt like a far-fetched dream, we didn't even have a band name at the time. Being here now and writing this feels surreal, and releasing this record on Rude Records/Equal Vision feels even more surreal. This album is a reminder to myself to never give up, always work hard, and no matter what, keep going. Anything is possible."

Never Loved is a band that is perhaps still underestimated, but already with this debut presents an amazing repertoire of creativity and musical flair. We can give you "Over It" and will certainly see the band live next year, should Germany get its act together. Our "Album of the month"!
