Sober Truth and their latest album "Psychosis
Hi and welcome to Lila's review!
Today we would like to tell you about a band that we got to know at the last Blattturbo band night and that we had already noticed very positively there. When we found their new album in our mailbox a few days ago (thank you, Torsten!) and had a look at it, we were simply thrilled and just had to report on it.
Sober Truth presents with her fifth album "Psychosis"a 46-minute complete package. It was recorded and produced in-house and is therefore 100% made by Sober Truth. They have remained true to their principles this time too, which is sure to please fans. Unconventional and uneven, the four-piece band delivers a sound that overlaps several genres. From hammering hardcore and progressive metal to homemade blues, everything is included. Sober Truth doesn't like to commit herself, she does her own thing and that's a good thing. Not long ago, we would have thought this was a daring experiment, but Sober Truth convinced us completely.
We have discovered a completely new facet Sober Truth with the unplugged version of your song "Collapse" (The original is on the album "Locust ▽ Lunatic" to find). One of our absolute highlights on the new album. Sober Truth re-records the song, puts it into a southern blues - rock sound and mixes it with the rough, melancholic vocals of singer Torsten. You shouldn't miss this, my Immortals!
But the other pieces also have it all: the very first piece "Solitude" opens the album with a dynamic that sweeps you away right from the start. Sober Truth probably describe it best on your website.... "Psychosis" takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride right from the start, which the last track lets roll out congenially.
The band has "Psychosis" have released an all-round package that offers something for every fan of metal and rock culture. They don't allow themselves to be pigeonholed and make free-spirited music. All in all, a successful record that we are happy to recommend!
