Stick To Your Guns surprise with homemade acoustic EP "The Meaning Remains

Hi and welcome to Lila's news!

"The Meaning Remains"

Under this label, the well-known hardcore band Stick To Your Guns recently released their latest acoustic record, setting an example in these difficult times.

The coronavirus pandemic has not only affected newcomers, pubs and event organizers, but also big names such as Stick To Your Guns are struggling with this: In 2019, the guys played several shows in Europe, including a sold-out show in Cologne with 4000 visitors, were ready to start a tour with a hundred thousand tickets sold together with Parkway Drive and were already planning a brand new album. But, as we all realized, this was no longer possible due to Corona.

Well, bring them with you "The Meaning Remains" has released an expressive record that declares war on the corona pandemic in the form of four songs and shows that you shouldn't let yourself get down so easily. With well-known hits like "Amber" or "Nobody" place STYG a very personal, intensive "Playlist" that goes through your bones when you listen to it. The songs, which were previously strong hardcore punk tracks, are now broken down to the essentials - and we don't mean that in a negative way - and packaged in a natural, clear acoustic sound. Especially the smoky voice of singer Jesse provides the odd goosebump moment on the record. However, the boys surprised us with their version of the world hit "Take On Me" from a-hawhich is accompanied by a saxophone, among other things. How does that sound? You should definitely listen to it for yourself.

A matching music video was also released for "The Meaning Remains" tells Jesse:

"This is an EP that shines a new light on some of our favorite STYG songs. Although the setting of these songs may seem pensive and somber, the core of the lyrics remain just as energetic and passionately angry as they were meant to be in the full-band version. They are sung softly and gently and aim for the same depth with which I sang them before. For us as a band, anger and peace, noise and calm go hand in hand. Both extreme poles are tools that we believe are necessary to convey our message. We hope you enjoy these songs - which you've heard a thousand times - in a new way now."

Stick To Your Guns prove with this very short record that no matter how many stones are put in your way, the music and the will to get up again always remain. We definitely recommend you listen to the EP - it's worth it!

By the way: For all vinyl fans, the record will soon be released in a beautiful, fresh star design and is definitely a must-have for your own collection.
