August Burns Red unveil new album "Guardians"

Hi and welcome to Lila's review!

In times like these, the world needs a soundtrack, August Burns Red delivers it. After three years of album abstinence, the metal giants now present their latest work "Guardians"which, appropriately for the start of the weekend, was Fearless Records appears. A soundtrack that made our day and that we would like to recommend to you today.

August Burns Red has been a fixture on the scene for years. In 2003, while the members were still attending high school in Pennsylvania, the band formed and wrote the first songs for their EP "Looks Fragile After All", which made them sign their first record deal just one year later. Among their greatest musical influences the band counts Between the Buried and Me and Hopesfall. August Burns Red itself plays finest metalcore and combines it with elements of deathcore and mathcore. The special thing about their sound is that it is constantly evolving and yet has remained true to itself over the years in the core. This is also clearly audible on their latest work.

"Guardians" is an album that deals mainly with the theme of helpfulness. It is about the fact that anyone who helps another person in need is a "Guardian" can be and thus stimulates thought. In a total of eleven songs they pack their versatile and at the same time hard-hitting sound with lyrics that hit the nerve of today's time and thus present an album, of which fans of the band can definitely be surprised. From classic breakdowns, grooving guitar riffs to pure guttural vocals present August Burns Red a wide range of their skills. Especially songs like "Ties That Bind" or "Lighthouse" reflect this and can only be recommended by us as an ideal introduction to the new disc. About the creation process of the brand new album guitarist reveals JB following:

"After the first session, we had months to think about what we might want to change. We've never had so much time and freedom for production. It allowed everyone to be more critical and think about how to put an individual stamp on the songs. Think Loud was also the nicest studio we've ever recorded in. We had tons of space to work and be creative. We are very proud of the final product. Dustin and I also collaborated more than we have in the past. Usually one person writes a whole song and sends it to the band. Here, we all got to contribute."

The good piece was recorded in the Think Loud Studios in York, PA together with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland. You can not only listen to the upcoming album in stereo, but also enjoy it live soon, because the musicians will soon start their tour through Europe and visit Germany among other places. Should the situation have calmed down by then, we definitely recommend you to drop by! All tour dates can be found as usual here with us.

My Immortals, "Guardians" is a soundtrack that shakes you awake. In times like these, music is the helping hand that holds us all together and especially "Guardians" embodies this. Therefore our recommendation for April, our "Album of the !
