Manne from Deadheads in interview - All about their album, experiences and more!

Hi and welcome to Lila's interview!

In keeping with our last review, we had the honor of working with Manne from Deadheads to lead an e-mailer about this and that (Thanks, Yassi!) ... What came out, you can see in the following 😉
The German translation is analogous, the English original can be found below.

LILA: In 2017, you were at the "Rock in the forest" Festival in Neuensee. When will our magazine have the chance to see you in Germany and where will you perform next?

MANNE: Hopefully soon. "Rock In The Forest was really awesome last year and we had a lot of fun together with the other bands.

LILA: Cologne (our living room) has a lot to offer, for example the best beer in the world 😉 and when I'm on the road there are always certain things I miss from home. Are there certain things you miss from home when you are on tour?

MANNE: Our families, of course. We all have kids and it's always hard to leave them behind. Despite that, I think we are constantly excited to see and try new things. Sometimes I miss my kitchen and my own food. It gets boring quickly just eating burgers and white bread. I think beer is often really good. Especially Germany has good beer, there are very good local breweries.

LILA: Deadheads has existed for several years and has already experienced a lot together. What was the best and what was the most intense experience together?

MANNE: We've been through quite a bit with our vehicle in the first few years. Once, when we were on the highway, a huge chunk of ice smashed our windshield. The whole window was broken and we had to open the side windows to see the road. But we were happy not to have crashed. We were driving 130 km/h behind a truck on a slippery road and then it looked like we had a problem with bass players leaving the band hehe.

The best experience:

That our bass player came back and all the good reviews we got so far and of course the relationship with our label. They have helped us out more than we expected and always at the right time. We can really only say good things about High roller say

LILA: In an interview in 2015 you told that no one from Deadheads a "Full-time musician" is. Has that changed and who hasn't, how do you manage touring, family and work? That must be really hard!

MANNE: No it hasn't been a problem since then because we don't tour that much. But we would like to tour more. But since we don't work with any booking company at the moment, we find it very exhausting to work and book the individual shows and tour alone at the same time. It would be wonderful to work with a reputable booking company. So agency's, get in touch!

LILA: My favorite song from your new album "This One Goes To Eleven" is definitely "Lucifer", can you explain to our Immortals (readers) what the story behind it is?

MANNE: Rickard did the music and I wrote the lyrics. It's about elitists, victims of pop culture and hatred of people. That's all there is to it, I'm glad you like it.

LILA: The first album I bought was by Avril Lavigne"The Best Damn Thing" and until today..... I really don't know why. Tell me, what was the first album you bought?

MANNE: It was the first album by Elvis Presley (true story!). The first EP was Roxette đŸ˜©.

LILA: When you think back to your first concert, which you played with Deadheads you have played. What is the first memory that comes up for you? How did it feel?

MANNE: I played a black Gibson SG, it was a bad guitar. I think there is even a Youtube link to it. It was in Henriksberg in Gothenburg, there were not many people there, however we had a good time. Many bands started there, the stage is so small that it is very hard to move.

LILA: After Sigge left the band, came Olle Griphammar, one of the founders of Deadheads, back again. How did it come about and how was the cooperation with him so far?

MANNE: Awesome! He wrote two amazing songs for the new album and he contributed a killer chorus riff for my old song (2 steps before the fall). We recorded that one for the first time and I think it's one of the best songs on the whole album. Unlike others, Olle's way of playing bass is unique in a special way.

LILA: Now to finish... Is there anything you would like to say to your fans as well as to our Immortals?

MANNE: Keep digging rock n' roll, go to concerts and buy records. Thank you for letting us be with you.

Lila is out, be the beat with you!
