SIXX:A.M. announce for Oct. 22, 2021 - Nikki Sixx's long-awaited new book "The First 21" to be released Oct. 19

Sixx:A.M. have announced the release of their best-of album SIXX:A.M. HITS for October 22, 2021 via Better Noise Music announced. The project contains the band's greatest hits and favorite songs incl. 6 previously unreleased tracks, making it the first album of new material since 2016. SIXX:A.M. HITS can can be pre-ordered everywhere as of now.

 

The album is released three days after the highly anticipated release of the new book THE FIRST 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx, written by Sixx:A.M.- and Mötley Crüe-founding member and music legend Nikki Sixx. One of the new songs on the album is also titled "The First 21" and was lyrically inspired by the captivating content of the book. Sixxwho has now lived abstinent for 21 years, embodies an incredible passion for his craft and speaks wonderfully openly about his life in rock'n'roll. In his new memoir, the three-time New York Times bestselling author shares the inspiring story of the first 21 years of his tumultuous life and how it turned into Frank Feranna finally Nikki Sixx was. The book processes the early parts of his fascinating life story, some of which fans have already seen through Mötley Crüe's acclaimed autobiography "The Dirt" which was turned into a hit biopic by Netflix in 2019. By The First 21 sets Sixx continued the tradition of creating the soundtrack to his own life, combining his work as a writer and musician into multi-layered works of art. In 2007, he released Sixx:A.M. the album The Heroin Diaries, which accompanies Sixx's Bestsellers, The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star was released, thus introducing the concept of a soundtrack to a book into pop culture. Both the book and the album became a huge success, with the book going straight to the top in its first week. New York Times bestseller and was sold out in all bookstores in the USA. The album brought the Number 1 single "Life Is Beautiful while at the same time it received critical acclaim and was eventually awarded gold in US. IGN praised the effectiveness of the work as a concept album, writing, "It's not really an album, but rather a musical book. It's almost impossible to recommend specific songs from this over others." With the upcoming HITS album gets The First 21 now its own soundtrack, which Sixx's artistic signature continues.

 

To celebrate the announcement, the band is releasing with "Skin (Rock Mix)" a first new track from the album including a new lyric video. The track originally appeared on the band's second studio album, This Is Gonna Hurt, and quickly became a fan favorite. The new mix, which provides a harder and at the same time anthemic sound experience, is now available everywhere.

 

The band also recently released the new "Sixx:A.M. 101 Playlist" on Spotify, which offers new and old fans a comprehensive collection, of the band's musical work. On the occasion of the announcement of the new Sixx:A.M. HITS album the band also has two exclusive new merchandise collections put together for their fans.
